Communication Landscapes
On November 27–28, the International Scientific Conference "Communication Strategies" was held at the Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages. Organized by the Department of Speech Studies and Communication Theory, the conference brought together 95 researchers from the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The participants included seven Doctors of Science, 48 PhD candidates, as well as doctoral students, postgraduates, master's students, and undergraduates who delivered presentations.
Elena Betenya, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, delivered a welcoming address to the conference participants.
The plenary session featured speeches from distinguished representatives of Russian and Belarusian academia: Professor Lyudmila Minaeva, Doctor of Philology, from Lomonosov Moscow State University; Professor Andrey Achkasov, Doctor of Philology, from Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University; Professor Olga Kondratieva, Doctor of Philology, from Kemerovo State University; and Professor Tatiana Poplavskaya, Doctor of Philology, from the Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages. The School of Communicative Linguistics was also represented at the plenary session by doctoral students of the Department of Speech Studies and Communication Theory: Inna Ilyicheva, Irina Metlushko, and Olga Sidorevich-Stakhnova. The plenary reports addressed issues such as the discourse of memory, the ecology of communication, the evolving usage of language in the context of artificial intelligence, and strategies for preventing crisis communications in corporate media discourse.
The roundtable discussions focused on problems of media communication, the application of professional and corporate communication strategies, naming strategies and the communicative components of the urban landscape, as well as strategies for intercultural communication.
The conference succeeded in strengthening scientific ties between leading universities and research schools in Belarus, Russia, and Uzbekistan. It also outlined pathways for future collaboration in the fields of communicative linguistics, media communication strategies, corporate and internet communication, and communication flow management.
